This post is intended to provide an overview of the roadmap for the 3.x branch of Noojee receptionist.
After considering user feedback we have completely reworked the original roadmap to reflect our understanding of user priorities.
3.0 due 7th December 2009This release will contain a roll up of all bug fixes available under 2.x and will introduce support for asterisk 1.6.x. 1.6.0.6 and below will not be supported as versions of 1.6 pre the
1.6.0.6 version were seriously broken.
Support for asterisk 1.4 will continue as a first class citizen with a full test plan applied.
Support for asterisk 1.2 has been removed. Users of Asterisk 1.2 should continue to use the 2.x release branch.
3.1 due first/second quarter 2010This release will concentrate on delivering a full UI refresh. (yes we do realise that the current UI is very ugly

).
Development to date has focused on making the system as efficient as possible for the receptionist, aesthetics has not been a consideration.
The UI refresh will provide a fresh and attractive interface, with the ability to re size each on the control windows to
view more information as well as allowing users to make better use of larger screens.
Further testing will also be undertaken to fine tune operation on dual screen systems.
Drag and drop will be introduced to a number of key areas of the UI to assist temporary staff in using the system.
The search facility will also be simplified by collapsing the search options into a single search across all fields.
3.5 no date set as yetRework of the core dialler engine to drop the use of meetme and use the new bridge/unbridged facilities of asterisk 1.6
This version will drop support for Asterisk 1.4.
The 3.1 branch will be maintained (bug fixes) for asterisk 1.4 users.
The 3.1 branch will receive support for at least 2 years from the release date.
